MPN-Directed Therapy Does Not Alter Timing of Clinical Manifestations of Splanchnic Vein Thrombosis

Results of a retrospective analysis of 64 patients with MPNs show that, at a median follow-up of 61 months post-development of splanchnic vein thrombosis (SVT), 20% of patients experienced esophageal variceal bleeding, 47% ascites, and 9% hepatic encephalopathy—supporting that time to development of SVT-related complications may not be associated with MPN therapy.
